Our school district has a Federal History Grant that gives us the opportunity to study history throughout the year (lectures and books). Then we travel to the areas/events we have been studying.
June 6, 2010 - Traveled to New Orleans (diverted to Houston airport for a while -weather). Stayed in St. Louis Hotel. Looked around the city and ate an oyster - threw up an oyster :).June 7 - Katrina tour, Swamp and Bayou tour.
June 8- WW II museum, Aquarium, Insects and IMAX on Katrina.
June 9 - Airboat Bayou tour and fly to Birmingham.
June 10 - Civil Right Institute, 16th Street Baptist Church.
June 11 - New Orleans museum and overlook at Vulcan statue. Fly home (diverted from Denver because of weather). 2:00 am finally home.
