June 2010 - Michael Mission - Ridgeland

Michael wrote on the back of these pictures (going top to bottom - left to right):
1. My District - AGAIN
2. Number 2 turtle - I killed. Here is the shell.
3. This guy is so cool, his name is Butch. We tried teaching him, but he said he won't become Mormon. His son is Mormon. He wants us to come visit him; so we do all of the time. He treats me like his kid - it's funny.
4. My fish I caught. Elder Toone, who is an A.P. - but cool, is in the background.
5. Left corner - Elder Rensh, my companion. Right corner - Elder Powell (AP). Up Left - Elder Toon (Cool A.P.). Up Right - Elder Woolf - the coolest of them all, ha, ha.

Trip to New Orleans and Birmingham

Our school district has a Federal History Grant that gives us the opportunity to study history throughout the year (lectures and books). Then we travel to the areas/events we have been studying.
June 6, 2010 - Traveled to New Orleans (diverted to Houston airport for a while -weather). Stayed in St. Louis Hotel. Looked around the city and ate an oyster - threw up an oyster :).
June 7 - Katrina tour, Swamp and Bayou tour.
June 8- WW II museum, Aquarium, Insects and IMAX on Katrina.
June 9 - Airboat Bayou tour and fly to Birmingham.
June 10 - Civil Right Institute, 16th Street Baptist Church.
June 11 - New Orleans museum and overlook at Vulcan statue. Fly home (diverted from Denver because of weather). 2:00 am finally home.

THE OUTFIT

The cutest outfit was on sale and I wanted Brittany to buy it for Adilynn. It was for 12-19 pounds. I told Mitch it would fit her for a while. He said it wouldn't fit her more than a month. So we agreed that the person that was right would have to buy the outfit. Looks like I purchased the outfit and Addyson will be wearing it soon. Adilynn also got the cutest sun glasses. It seems she may not think so :).

Getting Adilynn for the Night

Friday night we got to keep Adilynn for the night. She is an amazing baby. She smiles and laughs 9/10 of the time and let's us know what she needs by crying 1/10 of the time. She slept in until 9:30 am - much to her grandmother's delight (I love to sleep). She is SO cuddley!

Michael's mission - fishing pictures 4-26-2010

Elder Despain and Elder Woolf - Missionaries/Fisherman
Written on the back of the picture, "After fishing for 8 hours.
Then we went 5 more hours.
It was fun.
This is the day we got in trouble for
coming in late".

Written on the back of the fish picture,
"All our fish we cleaned and got in trouble for".

"My new companion; he is cool. His name
is Elder Renshaw. He is from California".
(I wonder if he fishes for men or fish?)

THE DAY BEFORE EASTER

It feels more like April's Fools Day - this snow is a JOKE!! I guess we need the moisture. Could it come in rain? It is really cold, blowing with drifting snow. Easter will bring the same??
